Tripwire Presents, the publishing arm of Tripwire Interactive, alongside developer Arctic Hazard, has released a brand-new gameplay trailer for NORSE Oath of Blood, their upcoming Viking-era turn-based tactical game set in Dark Age Norway.
The latest trailer shines a spotlight on the craftspeople protagonist Gunnar must recruit to keep his settlement alive and thriving, as well as the different types of Viking warriors players can command in battle. It offers a deeper look at how settlement management and tactical combat are tightly woven together.

Viking Warriors of the Warband
Players will lead a varied warband into battle, each warrior type fulfilling a distinct battlefield role:
- Drengrs – Stalwart frontline fighters who hold the line, shield allies, and blunt enemy advances
- Bogmathrs – Lightly armoured ranged units who rain deadly volleys from afar
- Berserkrs – Fearsome warriors who thrive in chaos, tearing through enemies with relentless aggression
Choosing the right mix of warriors and positioning them effectively will be key to surviving the game’s tactical encounters.
PC Pre-Purchases Now Live
Alongside the new trailer, the publisher confirmed that digital pre-purchases are now live on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Good Old Games, ahead of the game’s launch on February 17.
- Standard Edition – $34.99
- Special Edition – $44.99, including the Kievan War armor set and a unique Ulfberht sword
All PC pre-purchases receive a 15% discount until launch and include Brokkr’s Bearded Axe, a powerful weapon capable of turning the tide of battle.
A Gritty Viking Tale of Vengeance
NORSE: Oath of Blood places players in the role of Gunnar, a young warrior driven by betrayal and bloodshed. After his father, Jarl Gripr, is murdered by the treacherous Steinarr Far-Spear, Gunnar is left with one path forward: rebuild his people, forge alliances, and reclaim honour in a brutal Viking world.
Players will construct a settlement from the ground up, recruit allies, and train a formidable warband while navigating a harsh landscape filled with rival clans, shifting loyalties, and constant danger.
