KONAMI came out swinging during Sony’s recent State of Play, dropping multiple new game announcements and fresh updates across some of its biggest franchises.
From a brand-new Castlevania entry to the next chapter in Silent Hill, plus a completely original RPG and more Metal Gear, here’s everything revealed.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse
A new entry in the long-running Castlevania series is officially on the way.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is set in the streets of 15th-century Paris and is scheduled to launch later this year. The project is being developed in partnership with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, which immediately raises eyebrows given their track record with tight, action-focused design.
Details are still limited, but this marks a major return for the franchise in game form.
Silent Hill: Townfall
The next chapter in the psychological horror series is titled Silent Hill: Townfall, and it’s set against the cold, isolated backdrop of Scotland.
The game is being developed by Screen Burn and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and KONAMI. While gameplay specifics weren’t fully revealed, the setting alone suggests a heavier focus on atmosphere and isolation.
It’s slated as this year’s entry in the iconic horror franchise.
Rev. NOiR
A completely new IP was also announced.
Rev. NOiR is an all-new RPG currently in development for PlayStation 5. The brief reveal teased a narrative centred around “unravelling the mandate of heaven” and weaving together threads of hope — suggesting a more philosophical or myth-driven storyline.
No release window yet, but it’s one to keep an eye on if you’re into narrative-heavy RPGs.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2
The second instalment in the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection arrives on August 27.
Pre-orders are already live in selected regions, continuing KONAMI’s effort to repackage and preserve the iconic stealth series for modern platforms.
Darwin’s Paradox! Gets Release Date
Developed in partnership with ZDT Studio, the story-driven adventure platformer Darwin’s Paradox! launches on April 2.
A playable demo is available now, and longtime KONAMI fans may notice subtle nods to one of the publisher’s legendary espionage tacticians hidden within the experience.
A Big Night for KONAMI
Between reviving classic franchises, expanding horror, and introducing new IP, this State of Play marked one of KONAMI’s stronger showings in recent memory.
With multiple releases landing this year, it looks like the publisher is firmly back in the spotlight.
