A New Indie Action Platformer with Retro Roots
Cresata is a side-scrolling action platformer inspired by genre classics such as Strider and Castlevania, while also drawing influence from modern precision platformers like Celeste.
The game combines fast-paced combat with grappling-based traversal mechanics, designed to be easy to pick up but difficult to master. Players will wield the Crescent Claw of protagonist Phaedon, allowing them to strike in multiple directions, perform powerful Cresata Arts, and swing through hand-crafted pixel-style environments.
Each biome is designed with distinct visual themes, supporting both exploration and combat, while challenging players with intense boss encounters and skill-based progression.
A Story of Betrayal and Revenge
The narrative follows Phaedon of Arsica, a warrior betrayed and left for dead after a rebellion. After being freed by fate, he embarks on a journey of vengeance against those responsible, seeking to stop their attempt to reclaim an ancient power hidden within the ruins of a cursed metropolis.
The story blends anime-inspired presentation with stylised 2D character design, aiming to deliver a cinematic feel while retaining the fast-paced structure of a traditional platformer.
Star Voice Cast and Creative Collaboration
One of the most notable announcements is the involvement of acclaimed voice actors Ben Starr and Aleks Le.
Aleks Le (known for roles in Solo Leveling, Street Fighter 6, and Demon Slayer) not only voices the protagonist Phaedon but also serves as co-producer and casting director on the project, actively shaping its creative direction.
Le also personally brought Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33) into the project, who will voice the antagonist known as the Prime Reclaimer.
Kickstarter Campaign Now Live
The official Kickstarter page for Cresata is now live, giving fans a chance to follow development and support the project ahead of its full campaign launch in late 2026.
The campaign will include community-driven stretch goals, exclusive rewards, and early insights into development progress, with feedback from supporters helping to shape future updates.
Wishlist Now Available
Cresata is currently available to wishlist on Steam, allowing players to stay updated on development progress and upcoming announcements as the game moves toward its 2027 release window.
