Riot Games has released a brand-new Spanish and Catalan-language remix of the popular VALORANT anthem Villain (Take the Shot) as excitement builds for the upcoming VCT EMEA Stage 2 Finals in Spain later this summer.
The remix has been created in collaboration with rising Catalan music star Mushkaa, alongside original artists Barns Courtney and ARB4. The track aims to celebrate both the passionate Spanish VALORANT community and the historic move of the VCT EMEA Finals to Barcelona for the first arena roadshow event outside of Berlin.
A Local Twist on a VALORANT Favourite
Originally released in 2024, Villain (Take the Shot) quickly became a fan favourite within the VALORANT esports community, accumulating more than 6.6 million streams on Spotify.
The new remix introduces a distinctly Spanish and Catalan identity to the anthem, with Mushkaa performing in both languages to reflect the culture and spirit of Catalunya. The collaboration represents a unique blend of gaming, esports, and regional music culture as Riot Games continues to connect with local audiences across Europe.
Who is Mushkaa?
Mushkaa has rapidly become one of the most recognisable names in Catalan urban music. The artist recently achieved a major milestone by selling out Barcelona’s iconic Sant Jordi Club and has built a strong following through a blend of modern urban sounds and Catalan cultural influences.
Her involvement in the remix brings a local perspective to the anthem while helping celebrate the arrival of one of VALORANT’s biggest regional events on Spanish soil.
Live Performance Planned for the VCT EMEA Finals
Fans attending the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Finals will get the opportunity to hear the remix performed live for the very first time.
Mushkaa is scheduled to debut the track on stage during the finals event, which takes place from August 28-30 at the Olímpic Arena in Badalona, near Barcelona.
The event marks a significant milestone for VCT EMEA, representing the first time the competition has hosted a major arena roadshow event outside its traditional home in Berlin.
Part of Riot Games Music’s Growing Success
The remix joins the ever-expanding catalogue of Riot Games Music, which now features more than 1,000 tracks across its gaming portfolio. Within that collection, nearly 60 VALORANT songs have generated over 700 million streams worldwide, highlighting the growing impact of Riot’s music initiatives beyond gaming.
Music has become an increasingly important part of Riot’s esports identity, helping create memorable moments for players and fans while extending the reach of its competitive titles beyond the game itself.
Mushkaa on the Collaboration
Speaking about the project, Mushkaa shared her excitement about working on the remix and bringing elements of her own musical identity into a track already beloved by the VALORANT community.
“When Riot approached me about reimagining Villain, I immediately loved the idea of bringing something from my own world into a song that already means so much to the VALORANT community. To debut this remix live in Barcelona, in front of thousands of fans during the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Finals, makes this collaboration even more special.”
Celebrating VALORANT’s Arrival in Spain
With the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Finals heading to Barcelona this August, Riot Games is embracing local culture through music while building anticipation for one of the region’s biggest esports events of the year. The Villain remix serves as both a celebration of the host city and a showcase of the growing connection between esports and music.
Fans can stream Villain (Take the Shot) (Mushkaa VCT EMEA Remix) now across major music platforms ahead of its live debut later this summer.
