On the first looking at the game, I made a couple of assumptions. That it would be a RPG with an older theme, where your primary goal would be to destroy your enemies. I was half right.
The game looks as I expected, with an older feeling graphic style, reminiscent of the classic Fallout titles, which is what I was expecting. This style fits the game, and the game I was expecting to play.
As this was a pre-release build of the game, I imagine some of it will change but the main gist of the game is there, and I enjoyed it for a while, but as Iām not a huge fan of mobile style game with a few exceptions. Crush Your Enemies didnāt hold my interest for long, but thatās just me.
The main aim of the game is too complete each of the levels, to progress. Each level has a set of three objectives, each will reward you one severed head on the war map, a nice twist on the standard star rating. If this game played a bit more like a Total War, in that I could upgrade my grunts outside of each level, and have a change to select the guys I wanted to send into each level, I would probably enjoy it more.
On the war map, there are small villages which can be conquered, each adding to your production of tankards of beer, the in game currency which can be used to purchase upgrades to use in a battle. If this was a mobile, Iād expect these to become micro-transactions as itās common practice now within the mobile scene.
As you progress through the campaign, the enemies and objectives grow more difficult, but I found it to be more keep trying and youāll get it eventually, than a skill based game.
There are characters which appear between levels, which are entertaining, and make a lot of reference to RPG tropes like a long tutorial and also make some reference to the fact that this is a game. They add a little humour to an otherwise simple game.
Overall, it was an enjoyable few hours I played. However, I have played many similar game which have been executed better, but Iām interested to see where this will go, and will definitely check out any updates.
