The award-winning co-op adventure It Takes Two is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing Hazelight Studios’ acclaimed two-player experience to Nintendo’s latest console. Developed in partnership with Turn Me Up Games and published by Electronic Arts, the new version also makes it easier for friends to play together through the free Friend’s Pass.
Players who already own It Takes Two on Nintendo Switch can upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free in eligible regions, while newcomers can purchase the game for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
Play Together With the Free Friend’s Pass
One of the biggest features of It Takes Two is its Friend’s Pass, which allows owners to invite another player to join them without that person needing to purchase the full game.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version supports cross-platform play with PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Nintendo Switch players can also connect through GameShare, providing another way to enjoy the adventure together.
As a game built entirely around cooperative play, the Friend’s Pass makes it easier for friends to experience the story without both players needing to buy a copy.
A Magical Adventure About Two People Learning to Work Together
In It Takes Two, players control Cody and May, a couple whose relationship has fallen apart. After a magical spell transforms them into dolls, they find themselves trapped in a fantastical world filled with unexpected challenges.
To find their way home, the pair must work together, overcome unusual obstacles and confront the problems affecting their relationship. Each player takes control of one character, with cooperation and communication essential to progressing through the adventure.
Developed by Hazelight Studios, the game mixes platforming, puzzles and constantly changing gameplay scenarios, with its cooperative mechanics designed to make the two players rely on one another rather than simply follow the same path.
The game previously earned Game of the Year honours at The Game Awards and the DICE Awards, cementing its reputation as one of the standout cooperative adventures of recent years.
