Kinetic Games and Remedy Entertainment have officially launched the ‘Phasmophobia by Alan Wake’ collaboration event, bringing together two of the most iconic horror franchises in gaming for a limited-time crossover packed with eerie new content.
Available now on all platforms, the event runs for three weeks until June 2nd and introduces reimagined locations inspired by Alan Wake 2, exclusive character skins, special community challenges and new lore written specifically for the event by Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment.
Phasmophobia by Alan Wake – Release Trailer
A Dark Place Takes Over Phasmophobia
First revealed during the Galaxies Showcase on April 16th, this marks the first major crossover event ever introduced in Phasmophobia. Four existing maps have been transformed with heavy inspiration from the world of Alan Wake 2, giving ghost hunters a far darker and more atmospheric experience.
The featured locations include:
- Nell’s Diner
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Camp Woodwind
As players investigate these haunting new environments, they’ll discover pages of Alan Wake’s writing hidden throughout the maps. These pages were specially created for the collaboration by Sam Lake, adding extra lore and mystery for fans of both franchises.
Unlock Alan Wake and Saga Anderson Skins
Players can also permanently unlock new playable character skins for legendary novelist Alan Wake and FBI agent Saga Anderson by completing in-game event challenges.
The crossover arrives shortly after Phasmophobia’s major Player Character Update launched on May 5th, meaning both characters include brand-new animations and improved visuals.
The collaboration gives players even more reason to jump back into the paranormal co-op horror hit, especially with the game continuing to evolve through Early Access updates.
Kinetic Games and Remedy Speak About the Collaboration
Daniel Knight, CEO and Game Director at Kinetic Games, shared his excitement about the crossover:
“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with such an iconic title for our first collaboration. We’re big fans of the Alan Wake franchise, and knew it would fit perfectly with Phasmophobia. We can’t wait for our ghost hunters to jump in today and experience a small piece of the Dark Place in our game.”
Sam Lake also commented on the event, teasing fans with a warning straight from the Dark Place:
“It’s an honor and joy for us to collaborate with the Phasmophobia team in this event. Our two franchises complement each other perfectly. A word of caution to all the potential ghost hunters out there, if you choose to enter, you might never be able to leave the Dark Place.”
