Frontier Developments has released the fourth video in its Planet Zoo 2 Feature Focus series, giving players another look at the upcoming zoo management simulator and its extensive creative building tools.
The latest feature video puts the spotlight firmly on creativity, showing how players will be able to create unique zoos and wildlife reserves while also introducing several of the animals that will inhabit them, including the Western Lowland Gorilla, Meerkats and Galápagos Giant Tortoise.
Build the Zoo You Want
One of the biggest attractions of Planet Zoo 2 is the freedom it gives players when designing their zoos. Habitats can take almost any shape or size, with players managing locations across different parts of the world, each bringing its own geographical challenges.
For those who want to get straight into building, a selection of handy blueprints will be available. Players looking for more creative freedom can instead construct their facilities from the ground up using the series’ detailed piece-by-piece building system.
This should give players plenty of options, whether they want to quickly establish a functional habitat or spend hours creating an elaborate custom zoo.
Share Your Creations
Planet Zoo 2 will also make it easier for players to share their creativity with the wider community. Creations can be uploaded to the Frontier Workshop, allowing other players to discover and use them in their own zoos.
Players will also be able to browse available blueprints directly through the game’s in-game browser, providing another way to find inspiration or add ready-made creations to their own parks.
Creativity Without Limits
The game’s scenery system is designed to give players considerable freedom when deciding how their zoo looks. Scenery takes inspiration from locations around the world, allowing players to create environments that feel authentic or take things in a much more imaginative direction.
Players can embrace bold colours and eye-catching designs, or create more natural-looking environments using a huge selection of rocks, trees, plants and other scenery items.
Combined with the piece-by-piece construction system, this gives Planet Zoo 2 the potential to become as much about creative design as it is about managing animals and running a successful zoo.
More Animals to Discover
The latest Feature Focus also highlights several of the animals that players will encounter. The Western Lowland Gorilla, Meerkats and Galápagos Giant Tortoise are among the species showcased, offering another glimpse at the variety of wildlife coming to the game.
As with the original Planet Zoo, the animals will be an important part of the experience, with players needing to consider their habitats and surroundings while creating environments that work for both the wildlife and visitors.
