How the Analysis was Conducted
964 Gamers were asked to select the 3 games they enjoy playing the most in order of preference and the device they primarily play their games on.
They were then asked to fill in a remote Buss Perry Aggression Questionnaire.
The Buss Perry Aggression Questionnaire consists of 29 questions on a five-point Likert scale. It is used to determine the level of aggression within individuals based on their responses to various statements.
Respondents are presented with statements such as: “Q.17: I Sometimes feel like a powder keg ready to explode” and are asked to select an answer ranging from “Extremely Uncharacteristic” to “Extremely Characteristic”.
Depending on user responses to each question or statement, the more or less aggressive they are deemed to be by the scoring system.
The closer to 1 your overall score is, the more aggressive/angry/hostile you are found to be.
The questionnaire is split into four aggression sub sections, these being: Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Anger and Hostility.
Once we had all responses back, we grouped their answers based on games played, consoles owned and other demographics (such as age, gender and location).
