With the cancellation of PGS Berlin due to the COVID-19 virus, PUBG Corporation has announced it is hosting the PUBG Continental Series Europe Charity Showdown. This is the first of three PUBG Continental Series online events that will pitch the EMEA region’s best sides up against one another. The event will kick off on 15 May, where teams will compete for a shot at the $100,000 USD prize pot – PUBG will also donate an additional $100,000 USD to a charity selected by the winning roster. This is an open qualification tournament, meaning any team from the EMEA region is able to participate. The region is divided into MEA, Europe East and Europe West. Teams can sign up from now until 1 May by visiting pubgesports.eu.
Ahead of the PUBG Continental Series, PUBG has announced that star rosters FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Natus Vincere, TSM, ENCE, and Raise Your Edge Gaming are exclusively invited to compete at all three events. Due to a strong showing at the PGS Berlin: Europe Qualifier finals, WTSG, Northern Lights Team, Adepts, Tornado Energy, and Omaken Sports are invited to the PUBG Continental Series Europe Charity Showdown. These rosters will be joined by 13 teams from open qualifiers to battle it out in the group stages, taking place from 15-17 May, before the 16 best performing sides progress to the finals on 29-31 May. As ever, fans will be able to live stream all of the action on https://www.twitch.tv/playbattlegrounds.
Despite PGS Berlin being cancelled, PUBG is honouring its financial commitments to rosters and awarding $20,000 USD to the six teams who qualified from the PGS Berlin: Europe Qualifier finals.
