NEXON has dropped a major update for The First Descendant, bringing a slew of exciting new content in Season 3. Players can now wield the brand-new Swords weapon class, tackle the all-new Void Vessel dungeon, and take on the challenging Void Intercept Battle: Abyss. With new Trigger Modules, quality-of-life improvements, and balance changes, now’s the perfect time to dive back into the looter-shooter action.
Slice Into Action With Swords
The update introduces two unique swords, Shadow and Deus Ex Manus, each with distinct abilities like Shadow Slash and defensive mechanics that set them apart from firearms. Players can further customize melee combat with exclusive sword modules and External Components, creating powerful builds designed to maximize swordplay.
Explore the Void Vessel Dungeon
The new Medium-Sized Facility Zone dungeon features a variety of challenges, including boss fights and Hover Bike racing segments. Players will face the formidable new boss, Arche Slayer, whose sword-based attacks and high-mobility combat patterns test player skill. Racing sections incorporate boost and jump pads for fast-paced traversal. Farming this dungeon yields new swords, modules, and External Components, with higher drop rates in Hard difficulty.
Trigger Modules and Void Intercept Battle: Abyss
Season 3 also brings three enticing new Trigger Modules:
- Supply Fortress: Generates ammunition and reflects damage when barriers absorb hits.
- Wave Eruption: Increases movement speed and damage with release-type skills.
- Rhythm Step: Exclusive to Luna, boosts movement speed and shield when using rhythm skills.
The new Void Intercept Battle: Abyss introduces the Lava Citadel, featuring fire-element attacks and mechanics like flame tornadoes and lava waves. Players must master positioning and quick reflexes to survive this intense encounter, making teamwork and skill timing crucial.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
Amorphous Materials can now be opened directly in Albion, while reactor optimization conditions have been removed for more flexible builds. The Laboratory has been upgraded to summon up to 50 enemies at once, perfect for testing wide-area skills and damage potential in a controlled environment.
Balance Updates for Descendants
The update also brings major balance adjustments:
- Kyle: Extended dash, mid-air combos, magnetic barriers, and improved ultimate functionality.
- Ajax: Enhanced skill power and firearm buffs.
- Esiemo: Skill use while sprinting and stronger area-clear capabilities.
- Bunny: Improved performance against elite monsters and bosses, with skill slowdown issues fixed.
These updates aim to normalize Descendant balance and make underused skills more viable across diverse builds.
