IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have announced that 007 First Light has sold more than 4 million units worldwide within its first three months of release, making it one of 2026’s fastest-selling games.
The latest sales milestone highlights the strong reception for IO Interactive’s original James Bond adventure, which is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as through selected retailers.
A Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light is also planned for release later in 2026.
The achievement of 4 million units sold in just three months represents a significant milestone for IO Interactive and its ambitious take on the legendary James Bond franchise.
007 First Light delivers an original Bond story designed to establish a new interpretation of the iconic secret agent, combining cinematic storytelling with the studio’s experience in creating detailed locations, stealth gameplay and highly replayable missions.
The strong commercial performance across multiple platforms demonstrates the continued global appeal of James Bond and the demand for premium single-player action experiences based around the legendary character.
IO Interactive says the sustained sales momentum also reinforces the studio’s position within the interactive entertainment industry and its ambition to create a Bond experience capable of reaching audiences around the world.
YEAR ONE CONTENT ROADMAP
IO Interactive is not stopping with the game’s launch, with a substantial Year One content roadmap planned for 007 First Light.
The roadmap will introduce regular Tactical Simulation updates featuring new challenges across several of the game’s locations.
Players will be able to return to locations including Kensington’s Workshop, the mountain slopes of Slovakia, the black market of Mauritania and Vietnam’s luxury resort, The Pearl.
The additional content will also expand the game’s wider story, with players uncovering new intelligence surrounding Webb Industries and investigating an unknown piece of technology that could become one of Bond’s most dangerous opponents.
Following events in Mauritania, Bond will also become involved in an unexpected alliance between MI6 and Pirate King Bawma, resulting in a sensitive mission that requires Bond’s personal involvement.
Throughout Year One, players can expect regular Tactical Simulation updates featuring new gameplay scenarios, gadget upgrades, additional weapons, leaderboard challenges and new cosmetics.
IO Interactive is also exploring New Game+ as a potential addition, which would provide players with another way to experience the campaign and increase the game’s long-term replayability.
With 4 million copies already sold and a Nintendo Switch 2 release still to come, 007 First Light appears set to remain a major part of IO Interactive’s plans throughout 2026.
007 First Light is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version scheduled to arrive later in 2026.
