Available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Steam, the update adds new stages, bonus rooms, powerful items and additional gameplay features to the colourful dungeon-crawling adventure.
In BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons Boosted, players once again take control of Bub as he ventures through ever-changing candy-themed dungeons. Using his bubble-blowing abilities, Bub can defeat enemies, create platforms, collect treasures and strengthen his abilities as he pushes deeper into the dungeons.
One of the biggest additions is the brand-new giant Castle stage. This maze-like area features interconnected rooms that players must explore while gradually opening up the map.
The update also introduces new bonus stages accessed through Bob’s Gate in the Dungeon. Players can enter Bob’s Room and choose between three Bonus Gates, including the Skip Gate, Item Room and newly added Combo Room.
The Item Room provides a selection of useful items and treasure chests, including powerful new items that can give players an advantage during their current dungeon run.
New items include:
- Chack’n Cake – Returning from the original BUBBLE BOBBLE, this special cake makes Bub invincible for the remainder of the stage, allowing him to defeat enemies simply by crashing into them.
- x2 Gummy – Holding this item doubles the Materials collected from treasure chests during the current dungeon run. Materials can then be exchanged for items or used to improve Bub’s abilities.
- Gold Sugarees – This item doubles the Sugarees collected during the current dungeon run, allowing players to gather additional resources for use at the shop.
The new Combo Room provides another way to change up dungeon runs. Players can defeat groups of enemies to build massive combos, with successful combos helping restore the Baron Timer. The timer gradually decreases throughout the adventure and determines when the invincible Baron von Blubba appears.
Alongside the new gameplay content, BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons also includes a ported version of the 1997 home-console release of Bubble Symphony, giving fans another piece of the franchise’s history to enjoy.
To celebrate the update, new players can also pick up BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons at 25% off on digital storefronts for a limited time. The Nintendo Switch discount runs until September 4, the PlayStation 5 promotion lasts until September 10, and the Steam discount is available until September 3.
Steam players can also take advantage of a special bundle featuring BUBBLE BOBBLE 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop.
BUBBLE BOBBLE Sugar Dungeons Boosted is available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
