Razer has announced the Razer Tartarus V2 Pro, the latest addition to its dedicated gaming keypad range. The new model combines Razer’s Analog Optical Switch Gen-2 technology with 8000 Hz HyperPolling, alongside 31 programmable controls, a full-sized TMR thumbstick and an adjustable wrist rest.
Designed with MMO and FPS players in mind, the Tartarus V2 Pro is built around giving players a large number of configurable inputs without requiring a traditional full-sized keyboard for their primary controls.
Razer Analog Optical Switch Gen-2
At the centre of the Tartarus V2 Pro are Razer Analog Optical Switch Gen-2 switches. They offer an adjustable actuation range from 0.1mm to 4.0mm, while Rapid Trigger sensitivity can be set as low as 0.1mm for faster repeated inputs.
Each switch is individually lubricated and positioned within a dense foam layer. Razer rates the switches for up to 100 million keystrokes, while the design is intended to provide a cleaner and more consistent feel during extended use.
31 Programmable Controls and TMR Thumbstick
The Tartarus V2 Pro features 31 programmable controls, giving players plenty of options for assigning abilities, macros and other commands without having to reach across a conventional keyboard.
It is also equipped with a full-sized anti-drift TMR thumbstick, allowing for analogue movement as well as control of radial menus and other in-game functions. Three dedicated buttons sit alongside the thumbstick for additional inputs.
An Adjustable Wrist Rest
Razer has also redesigned the wrist support around adjustability. The Tartarus V2 Pro’s ergonomic wrist rest can slide out and rotate from left to right, allowing users to change its position to better suit their hand and preferred playing angle.
This is intended to make the keypad more comfortable during longer gaming sessions, rather than forcing players into a fixed wrist position.
8000 Hz HyperPolling and Multiple Keymaps
The Tartarus V2 Pro supports 8000 Hz HyperPolling, which Razer says is eight times faster than the standard 1000 Hz polling rate commonly used by gaming peripherals.
The keypad also includes Razer’s Advanced Input Control features, including Razer Snap Tap, Razer Snap Flex and Dynamic Keystroke. These are designed to provide additional control over how inputs are registered, particularly in competitive games.
Players can configure up to 24 keymaps across three onboard profiles using Razer Synapse, making it possible to maintain different configurations for different games and genres.
Actuation and Rapid Trigger settings can also be adjusted directly on the device using its onboard LED array, meaning players do not need to open software for every adjustment.
The keypad is finished with textured doubleshot PBT keycaps, which are designed to provide greater durability while maintaining their texture over extended use.

With the Tartarus V2 Pro, Razer is taking its dedicated keypad concept further with a combination of analogue optical switches, a TMR thumbstick, high-frequency polling and extensive customisation. The result is a keypad aimed at players who want more dedicated inputs and control without relying solely on a conventional keyboard layout.
