Offworld Industries, in partnership with publisher Knights Peak, has released a new major update for Starship Troopers: Extermination, bringing a mix of gameplay improvements, new systems, and lighthearted Federation-themed additions.
Update 11 introduces new progression mechanics, quality-of-life features, and performance optimisations, alongside one of the more unusual additions to the battlefield: deployable Field Showers.
Field Showers: Battlefield Hygiene Goes Tactical
The standout feature of Update 11 is the introduction of Field Showers, a new buildable structure available across all combat zones.
Once constructed, the Field Shower allows Troopers to clean off blood, debris, and combat damage, while also extinguishing burning effects and restoring health.
Completing a full “Federation Standardized Shower” grants additional combat bonuses, including improved movement speed, better jumping ability, enhanced climbing, increased accuracy, and a morale XP boost for recently cleaned Troopers.
The system blends humour with gameplay utility, reinforcing the game’s satirical military tone while providing tangible in-match advantages.
Daily Dispatches and Rotating Missions
Update 11 also introduces Daily Dispatches, a new mission system designed to encourage regular play and varied objectives across deployments.
Players will receive rotating Critical Dispatches from Fleet Command, with the ability to refresh their mission list once every 24 hours.
According to the developers, there are currently 47 different Dispatch types in rotation, with more planned for future updates.
Completing these missions rewards players with additional combat experience and contributes toward long-term progression through the new Service Record system.
DSV Service Record System Overhaul
The new DSV Service Record system tracks a player’s entire military career within the Deep Space Vanguard, recording combat performance, mission participation, and operational milestones.
Every action contributes to a persistent career profile that reflects long-term progression rather than just match-by-match performance.
As players reach milestones, they earn Career Experience and rise through the ranks of the Mobile Infantry, showcasing their dedication to the Federation’s ongoing war effort against the Arachnid threat.
New Cosmetic Pack: Tesla Giants Supporter Pack
Alongside the update, Offworld Industries has released a new optional cosmetic bundle titled the Tesla Giants Supporter Pack, priced at $2.99.
The pack includes themed armour and weapon cosmetics inspired by the fictional Tesla Giants Jump Ball team from Zander Barcalow’s high school lore.
Included items are a Giants helmet visor, armour uniform, helmet decal, and weapon skin, allowing players to customise their Troopers with a more stylised appearance on the battlefield.
Continued Evolution of a Co-op Sci-Fi Shooter
Starship Troopers: Extermination remains a 16-player cooperative FPS built around class-based squad gameplay and large-scale battles against the Arachnid forces.
Players choose from six unique classes and deploy into frontline combat scenarios inspired by the classic sci-fi franchise, working together to push back Bug infestations across hostile planets.
With Update 11, the game continues to expand both its systems and its satirical tone, balancing progression depth with humour and large-scale cooperative action.
