Neon Giant, a creative studio within KRAFTON, Inc., has announced that its cyberpunk action-shooter RPG The Ascent will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 3, 2026.
The release date was revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct and represents the next stage in The Ascent‘s ongoing platform expansion, which was first teased as part of the game’s fifth-anniversary roadmap earlier this year.
The Ascent Ultimate Edition Comes to Nintendo Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 release will arrive digitally through the Nintendo eShop as The Ascent Ultimate Edition, priced at $29.99.
The Ultimate Edition will include the original game alongside all three previously released DLC packs:
- Cyber Heist
- CyberSec Pack
- Cyber Warrior Pack
This means Nintendo Switch 2 players will have access to the complete The Ascent experience in a single package.
The game will support 10 languages at launch, including English, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
Pre-Orders Begin October 6
Pre-orders for The Ascent Ultimate Edition will open through the Nintendo eShop on October 6, 2026.
Players who pre-order will receive a 10% discount, bringing the price down from $29.99 to $26.99. The discounted price will remain available throughout the pre-order period and until the game’s launch on December 3.
A Cyberpunk RPG Built for Solo and Co-op Play
Originally released in 2021, The Ascent takes players into the densely populated cyberpunk world of Veles, where corporations control almost every aspect of life.
The action-shooter RPG can be played alone or cooperatively with up to four players, combining twin-stick-style shooting with RPG progression, loot, customisation and a futuristic cyberpunk setting.
According to Neon Giant, more than 12 million players have entered the world of Veles since the game’s original release.
Legacy Patch Coming to Existing Platforms
Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t the only version receiving an update. Ahead of the new platform launch, Neon Giant will release a Legacy Patch for the existing versions of The Ascent on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation.
The update is scheduled to arrive on November 19, 2026 and will include localisation improvements alongside fixes for previously identified issues.
These improvements will also be included in the Nintendo Switch 2 version when it launches in December.
The Ascent Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date
The Ascent Ultimate Edition launches digitally on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 3, 2026.
In the UK and Europe, the game will become available at 2:00 AM GMT / 3:00 AM CET.
With the Ultimate Edition including the base game and all three DLC expansions, Nintendo Switch 2 players will be getting the most complete version of The Ascent to date, while existing players on PC and consoles can look forward to the Legacy Patch arriving ahead of the new release.
