Digital Extremes has celebrated 11 years of TennoCon with its biggest community showcase yet, revealing the future of Warframe, major updates for Soulframe, and a huge collection of announcements during the annual TennoLive presentation.
Attended by thousands of fans in person and watched by millions worldwide, TennoCon 2026 delivered the first full gameplay reveal for Warframe: Tau, the next major narrative chapter that will expand the universe beyond the Origin System with an entirely new Star Chart. The update will launch free across all platforms later this year.
The event also showcased the latest progress on Soulframe, including a brand-new gameplay demo featuring corrupted player progression, fishing, and the highly anticipated mount system.
Warframe: Tau Takes Players Beyond the Origin System
The biggest announcement of TennoCon was the full gameplay reveal of Warframe: Tau, a new narrative chapter that sends players into the mysterious Tau System for the first time.
This new region introduces players to the Sentient world of Fornax, a massive ring city filled with criminal factions, dangerous secrets, and a mysterious black rain that has transformed the environment.
Players will travel to Fornax where Albrecht Entrati awaits the return of the Tenno, uncovering what has happened to the Sentient inhabitants and exploring the dark underworld controlled by ruthless crime boss The Hunra.
Voiced by Jonathan Bullock, The Hunra rules through fear, controlling the production of an addictive substance known as Bloom while commanding a network of smugglers and enforcers.
Meet Brysko, Warframe’s New Noir Detective
One of the most surprising reveals was Brysko, a brand-new Sentient Warframe brought back to life by Albrecht Entrati.
Brysko has been created with a unique noir-inspired identity, featuring an internal monologue voiced by Matthew Mercer, known for roles in The Legend of Vox Machina and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Designed to infiltrate The Hunra’s inner circle, Brysko brings a distinctive combat style featuring:
- Rain & Shine brass knuckle melee weapons.
- Explosive playing cards.
- The powerful Corecracker Exalted revolver magnum.
The new Warframe looks set to bring a fresh style of storytelling and gameplay to the ever-expanding Warframe universe.
Warframe Introduces Its First Card Game: Portau
For the first time in Warframe history, players will be able to take a break from combat and test their luck with Portau, a new card mini-game inspired by poker.
Found within The Hunra’s gambling dens, Portau introduces players to a Sentient card game featuring unique mechanics built around Blooms, Cores, Moons, and Suns.
The mini-game adds another layer of world-building while giving players a new activity to enjoy within the dangerous streets of Fornax.
A New Sentient World Awaits
The Tau System introduces a completely new environment unlike anything players have experienced before.
Fornax features a mixture of:
- High-end casinos.
- Industrial shipping docks.
- Decaying urban slums.
- A living Sentient metropolis affected by its mysterious past.
Players will also face a new enemy faction known as the Fornax Drowners, a Sentient evolution unlike the enemies previously encountered within the Origin System.

Players can also look forward to Citrine Prime Access, bringing the crystal-themed Warframe back with new Prime weapons and accessories inspired by the golden age of the Orokin Empire.
Soulframe Reveals New Gameplay Features
The TennoCon finale also delivered a fresh look at Soulframe, Digital Extremes‘ upcoming fantasy action RPG.
The latest gameplay showcase introduced a new Warsongs Fable featuring a corrupted player progression path, fishing mechanics, and the long-awaited mount system.
The presentation also featured new performances from Ben Starr and Jennifer English, adding further depth to Soulframe’s fantasy world.
TennoCon Returns to London in 2027
The Warframe development team confirmed that its global TennoVIP World Tour will continue throughout 2026, bringing community events to South Korea, China, London, and Glasgow.
TennoCon itself will return to London, Ontario, Canada on July 16-17, 2027, celebrating the 12th year of the beloved community event.
The Future of Warframe Looks Bigger Than Ever
After more than a decade of continuous updates, Warframe continues to expand in ways few live-service games have managed. The reveal of Warframe: Tau represents one of the biggest steps forward for the franchise, introducing a new system, new enemies, new gameplay mechanics, and a fresh chapter in the Tenno’s journey.
With major updates, crossover events, and continued investment in Soulframe, Digital Extremes has shown that the future of its universe remains incredibly ambitious.
Warframe is available now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, with free-to-play progression across supported platforms.
