505 Games and Chinese development studio Indolphinity have announced a new development and publishing agreement that will bring players the next chapter in the WUCHANG franchise.
Founded by Xia Siyuan, Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Co., Ltd., operating under the brand name Indolphinity, will lead creative development of the upcoming title, while 505 Games will provide funding and handle global publishing.
Building on the Success of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers
The announcement follows the success of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, which launched on July 24, 2025, and quickly established itself as one of the most successful action RPG Soulslike titles in its category.
The game achieved:
- More than 131,000 concurrent Steam players at launch.
- Over 5 million players worldwide across PC and console platforms.
The strong reception helped cement WUCHANG as a franchise with significant global potential.
A New Future for WUCHANG
Following Digital Bros Group’s acquisition of the intellectual property rights for WUCHANG in April 2026, 505 Games and Indolphinity have moved forward with plans for the franchise’s next stage of development.
Under the new agreement:
- Indolphinity will lead the creative vision and development of the sequel.
- 505 Games will fund production and manage worldwide publishing.
The partnership aims to maintain the identity and cultural foundations that helped define the original game while providing the resources needed to expand the series internationally.
Keeping WUCHANG’s Creative Roots in China
Both companies have highlighted their commitment to preserving the authenticity and cultural identity of the franchise.
Future development will remain based in China through collaboration between the original creative team and 505 Games, ensuring continuity across the game’s vision, quality and execution.
To further support development and publishing operations, Digital Bros Group will establish a dedicated subsidiary in Chengdu, strengthening its involvement within China’s growing game development ecosystem.
