Global Agenda is a SCI-Fi MMO set in the future 2155, after a third world war. Humanity survives the apocalypse and democracy is lost. The world is controlled by the Commonwealth, a government whose plans are global domination and large income. Luckily there is a small selection of factions who fight against this government using elite troops. These elite troops are advanced and well versed in hi-tech warfare.
The game starts with the player being able to choose their agent class. The classes are Robotics, who are able to deploy advanced stationary weaponry such as turrets or force fields; Assault, who wield big, power packing guns to tear through enemies; Recon, deadly assassins with the ability to sneak around behind enemy lines and lastly Medic, self explanatory healing to friendly units. After choosing your class you are able to do the basic psychical changes hair colour/style etc. Once all this is done you are asked whether you wish to skip the tutorial or take it. The tutorial is short and can be done in a mater of minutes however all the things learnt in the tutorial can easily be picked up on the job.
Once the tutorial is complete you are thrown into the main hang-out for the rebellion, containing shops for weapons, armour and other bits and pieces you may need. From this point on you are able to continue on with the main story quests which will help you level up and prepare you for the travels outside the walls.
Your character is equipped with a basic gun, a sword, some armour and a jet-pack. All of these a must have for survival, and the ability to jet-pack around the map is a good plus. The game has your basic MMO quests such as ‘Kill so many robots, ‘destroy X amount of robot ants’ and assassinate a ‘boss’ officer’ these all give you valuable XP and sometimes an equipment upgrade. Once you get your basic gear upgraded the option for Missions is a must do. much like many other games dungeons a group of players go through the instanced map and kill the trash mobs before reaching a boss. The multiplayer features don’t end with just the missions though, there are many PVP matches to play once you get to the right levels. These are Death matches, Capture the area etc.
The graphics are based on the Unreal 4 engine and the engine works with this MMO, animations are smooth, environments are bleak but this collaborates with the apocalyptic feel of the game. The sound and music are okay not much can be said about it and a half decent voice acting cast has been used.
The game is currently free to play, however you can upgrade to the Elite Agent package if you so wish. The free Agent package gives access to the game-world, all weapons, devices and a lot of other goodies. The Elite Agent package gives all of these plus, Conquest Mode, which includes Alliance Vs Alliance, a mail system, player crafting, addition customization options and tons of other add-ons.
Global Agenda is a good MMO for those that don’t want an old fantasy setting with elves and hobbits etc. I recommend downloading the free Agent game and testing it out.
