Neeko is quite fun to play in LOL and she brings in some great synergies, not to mention her efficiency against healers and tanks. She can play a plethora of styles and she works wonders when it comes to engage or vision control.
Some of her strengths include the lane bully, mage support with an escape solution, excellent GG and great base damage. Now, is Neeko bot lane still a reliable option? Here is everything you need to know before playing Neeko.
Summoner spells with Neeko
In order to support like a pro, you need to become familiar with a few summoner spells. Flash in particular is essential – especially for Tangle Barbs and Pop Blossom. Ignite is just as handy, especially as it can tackle the Heal spell. Make sure you have it ready for those who get most healing when fighting.
Exhaust is not to be overlooked either – stick to Yasuo and Tristana because they can bring in snowball and level 2. Finally, Barrier has solid effects when mixed with Nimbus Cloak, especially when engaging with Leona, Rakan or Nautilus.
Runes with Neeko
Runes have different capabilities based on their profile. When it comes to domination, you want Electrocute and Predator. Taste of Blood works wonders at times, as Neeko has a low range. Dealing with a zombie ward? Ghost Poro is great in such situations. When it comes to Relentless Hunter, use it when you do not feel like building, while Ingenious Hunter is suitable when running Predator.
Other good runes in domination include Nimbus Cloak, Celerity, Axe, Overgrowth and Second Wind.
Sorcery is different and involves using other types of runes. Arcane Comet is your top option if the lane is simple to poke out, while Summon Aery is good under niche circumstances. Axe is underrated, while other good options include Biscuit Delivery, Relentless Hunter, Hextech Flashtraption, Scorch and Taste Of Blood. Nimbus Clock is worth some attention too when in need of moving speed.
As for glacial, you need Hextech Flashtraption, Biscuit Delivery (ideal if you max), Taste Of Blood (Neeko gets lots of poke) and Ingenious Hunter.
Support for AP Neeko
The protobelt extends the range of Pop Blossom and can dodge spells – the ideal option in this situation. Zhonya’s Hourglass is widely used, but it is mostly useful against champions like Rengar and Katarina. It is quite pricey though.
When it comes to champions countering Neeko, the item is suitable against teams with Darius, Soraka or Ekko – basically, teams with many healing champions. It is more efficient when mixed with Glacial Augment if your enemy has two tanks or more.
As for damage and lots of destruction, bring in Void Staff, as it will skyrocket your damage capabilities.
Support for Enchanter Neeko
Redemption is one of the best items when falling behind – it does pretty much everything, It can be mixed with Hextech Protobelt-01 for a higher survival rate. Shurelya’s Reverie is excellent to speed up your team members, engage and provide shield power. Therefore, it can be mixed with Locked Of The Iron Solari and Redemption.
Support for Tank Neeko
Righteous Glory is your best friend if it feels like you miss engage. Zeke’s Convergence is not as common. It is known as a niche item, but it can provide some extra armor. Abyssal Mask is in the exact same situation – useful sometimes if both teams are AP, but useless in most other circumstances.
Final words
Bottom line, Neeko is definitely a fun character and can work wonders if twisted accordingly. It will take time to get used to her, but a little training can turn you into a support master.
