Frontier Developments has released Planet Zoo 2, the highly anticipated sequel to its acclaimed zoo management game. The new instalment expands the series with aquatic and flying species, fully customisable aquariums and aviaries, and more than 130 animals to care for.
Players take on the role of a Conservation Coordinator for the Fauna and Ecosystems Network (FEN), with responsibilities extending beyond traditional zoo management to conservation projects around the world.
Build More Realistic Zoos
Planet Zoo 2 aims to deliver the most realistic animal representations in the series so far, with detailed fur, feathers and scales alongside authentic animal behaviours. Players must meet each species’ individual needs by designing habitats and exhibits inspired by their natural environments.
For the first time, players can also build fully customisable aquariums and aviaries, opening up new possibilities for caring for aquatic and flying animals. Frontier’s familiar piece-by-piece construction system, terrain tools and Frontier Workshop return, giving players plenty of options for designing their own zoos.
Conservation Beyond the Zoo
Conservation plays a larger role in the sequel, with projects focused on restoring wildlife reserves. Players will nurture animals before releasing them into thriving ecosystems, building a wider network of conservation sites alongside their zoos.
Career, Franchise and Sandbox modes return, allowing players to approach zoo management in different ways. They can trade animals with other players, work together on community goals and develop their own conservation networks.
The new Planet Hub provides a central overview of these growing operations, while a first-person camera lets players explore their own zoos, wildlife reserves and creations shared by the wider community.
Planet Zoo 2 Platforms and Price
Planet Zoo 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Standard Edition costs £39.99, while the Deluxe Edition is priced at £54.99 in the UK.
With more than 130 animals, new aquatic and flying species, and conservation projects reaching beyond the zoo gates, the sequel offers players more ways to build, manage and protect wildlife.
