Jagex The RuneScape Company has officially launched one of the most ambitious updates in RuneScape‘s history, completely reimagining the game’s Player-Owned Housing system as part of its ongoing 25th Anniversary Road to Restoration initiative.
Available today, the update introduces a fully rebuilt housing experience alongside a major overhaul of the Construction skill, which now extends to level 120. Players can create highly personalised homes, display their greatest achievements, build communities with friends, and access a wealth of new utility features designed to make life across Gielinor easier than ever.
Player-Owned Housing Rebuilt From the Ground Up
The new housing system gives players unprecedented freedom when designing their dream home. With more than 650 decorative items available at launch, homeowners can now create unique spaces that better reflect their adventures, accomplishments, and personalities.
Players can choose from five distinct house styles while customising room layouts, furniture placement, flooring, wall designs, and decorative skins. Unlike the original system, furniture can now be placed with far greater flexibility, opening up countless possibilities for creative builders.
Environmental customization has also been expanded with new features such as the Weather Vane, allowing players to control the atmosphere surrounding their home, while the Shroud System lets homeowners alter the appearance of the surrounding landscape.
To add even more personality, players can install their own Music Box or Jukebox packed with favourite tracks from throughout Gielinor’s long history.
Create Homesteads With Friends
One of the biggest additions is the introduction of Homesteads, allowing players to form communities with up to five friends.
Homestead members can freely move between each other’s houses, access shared facilities, and collectively build a neighbourhood that reflects the achievements and progression of its residents.
The feature transforms housing from a largely solo activity into a social experience, giving players new reasons to collaborate and showcase their creativity together.
Turn Your Home Into a Museum of Achievements
For veteran adventurers who have spent years conquering bosses, completing quests, and collecting rare rewards, the new achievement systems provide dedicated ways to display those accomplishments.
New display cases and stations allow players to showcase:
- Boss trophies and rare drops.
- Powerful weapons and equipment.
- Archaeology discoveries and collections.
- Achievement Log progress.
- Skillcape accomplishments.
- Prestigious capes and rare collectibles.
The update effectively transforms Player-Owned Housing into a living museum that chronicles a player’s journey through RuneScape.
Powerful New Utility Features
Beyond visual upgrades, the overhaul introduces a huge range of practical tools designed to support adventuring, skilling, and account progression.
Travel and Teleportation
Players can build a dedicated travel hub featuring several highly requested conveniences:
- Teleport Nexus for rune-based teleports.
- Jewellery Box containing collected teleport jewellery.
- Player-Owned Ports Access Table.
- Dungeoneering Monolith for rapid access to Daemonheim.
Battle Preparation
Combat-focused players gain access to numerous preparation stations, including:
- Potion Cauldrons.
- Crystal and Combo Cauldrons.
- Tea Cauldrons.
- Armour Repair Stand.
- Slayer Helm Stand.
- Gilded Altars.
- Mini War’s Restoration Crystal.
These additions make it easier than ever to prepare for boss encounters, Slayer tasks, and high-level content.
Expanded Storage Solutions
Storage capacity has also received significant upgrades. New options include:
- Furniture Trunk.
- Costume Room Storage.
- Toy Box.
- Treasure Chest.
- Armour Chest.
- Cape Rack.
- Menagerie.
- Aquarium.
The goal is to provide dedicated storage for collections, pets, equipment, and treasured items that players have accumulated over years of adventuring.
Construction Expanded to Level 120
Perhaps the most significant gameplay change arrives through the complete redesign of the Construction skill.
Construction now extends to level 120 and introduces an entirely new progression system featuring additional unlocks, rewards, and crafting opportunities throughout the levelling process.
A new furniture crafting system allows players to directly create decorative and functional items for their homes. Whether players prefer active gameplay or more passive training methods, the redesigned skill offers multiple paths towards progression.
As Construction levels increase, players unlock:
- Additional furniture recipes.
- New room shapes and layouts.
- Utility upgrades.
- Expanded house customization options.
- Additional house styles.
- Community-focused Homestead benefits.
- Prestige rewards for dedicated builders.
A Major Milestone in RuneScape’s 25th Anniversary Celebration
Player-Owned Housing has long been one of RuneScape’s most requested areas for improvement, and this update represents one of the largest overhauls ever delivered to the system. By combining deeper customization, meaningful social features, expanded progression, and practical gameplay benefits, Jagex is giving players far more reasons to make their house a central part of their adventure.
Whether you’re a veteran looking to showcase years of achievements or a new player seeking the perfect home in Gielinor, the rebuilt housing system offers more freedom and functionality than ever before.
