Having wireless controllers is so handy there is less clutter and allows you to play games from the comfort of a sofa or chair while the console can be on the other side of the room. I have a collection of wireless controllers, but I came across the GameSir T4 Pro controller and saw that it is compatible with several different systems, it sparked my interest. How cool would it be to have a control that can do it all? Was able to connect to my Android devices, Windows, iOS devices, and Nintendo Switch. I managed to get my hands on one of these controllers to test it out and see just how good the T4 Pro is.
First Impressions
The box is clean and has loads of information about the product. It details all the different devices the controller can connect to and shows what it looks like when switched on and connected to a device. The controller comes with RGB lighting and a clear button layout. When unpacking the controller, everything is tidy and in its little section. It has a manual that details how the controller works and connects to the different systems. Each system has a different button pattern that has to be pressed for the controller to connect to the right device. Though you don’t need to worry about remembering them as there is a sticker on the back of the controller. This tells you what pattern does what, so you don’t have to worry about remembering or carrying around the manual with you. When I picked up the controller, I was surprised at how light it was, compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series X controller. The controller has a cable that allows for it to be charged and used as a wired controller. It also comes with an attachment that connects to the top of the controller and allows you to mount your phone. This is very useful when mobile gaming as you don’t have to worry about holding the phone while playing. It was so easy to connect the controller via Bluetooth to my phone and other systems but the complications I had was when I was trying to connect the controller to the Switch. It was so difficult and it didn’t always connect, I could sit there for a good ten minutes trying to get it to pair and it sometimes did and other times wouldn’t. When it did connect it was enjoyable to use but it was also confusing as the button layout on the GameSir T4 Pro controller is a different button layout. Though after a few gaming sessions I got used to it.
Anyone for a new controller?
I have never used a GameSir controller before and I would have to say it was pleasant to use. While playing certain games on the phone however the controller wasn’t supported. For example, playing Fortnite on my Android phone worked wonders as I was able to play anywhere like at work and in the car on long journeys. It made me enjoy mobile gaming that little bit more as I’m not a fan of using the screen to control my character while mobile gaming. I think it’s just that I’m more accustomed to using controllers. It’s like how the phone mount sits on top of the controller, it does add a bit of weight to the controller but it’s all secure and sturdy which is reassuring. When I loaded up games like PUBG: New state only a number of the buttons were registered on the controller and it didn’t support it. So, if you play a lot of mobile games, it might be worth checking in advance to see if the games on mobile support controllers. Connecting it to my Windows computer it worked fine, though I have an Xbox controller that I mainly use when gaming on the PC, so the GameSir wouldn’t be my first call of action. The main reason I wanted to use the GameSir was for my Switch and this is where I felt it let me down. It was very temperamental when it came to connecting it to the Switch and like I said before the button layout is different. I thought it was a very comfortable controller to use and I like the idea of having four customizable buttons that could make your whole gaming experience that bit better. You can’t go wrong either with RGB lighting though I feel like I would have preferred it more if the whole controller lit up and not just the one side.

Closing Statement
In conclusion, the GameSir T4 Pro is an affordable controller at £29.99 that works with multiple devices. If you’re in the market for a new controller that can be used on pretty much most platforms then this might be a good place to start. However, if you are like me and have controllers for consoles already then you might be better off just sticking with them or buying the ones that are for that system. I feel like I prefer my Nintendo Switch Pro controllers over the GameSir T4 Pro but the fact that it can connect to other systems is very beneficial. If I decided in the future to go down the path of buying GamePass on my phone I’ll be able to use this controller with ease. It has good battery life and is easy to set up on Phones and my PC, just a problem for me on the Switch. Though, that might be down to me doing something wrong so I will look into it. The GameSir T4 Pro is an affordable controller that is comfortable as much as it is resourceful and I would highly recommend it to gamers who play across multiple systems and are currently in the market for a new controller. I give this controller a score of 7 out of 10.
