The expansion for the action RPG CODE VEIN II Mask of Idris, will launch on 9 September 2026, bringing players a new post-game adventure set within the mysterious Forsaken World.
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, CODE VEIN II takes players on an epic journey where time itself becomes a weapon. Players can travel between past and present versions of the game’s world while uncovering a dramatic battle to save humanity.
With Mask of Idris, players will venture into the Forsaken World, a strange realm formed from the converged passions of worlds that disappeared following historical alterations.
At the heart of this alternate world lies a colossal, swirling spindle formed from these lingering passions. Continuously drawing in emotions from different times and spaces, the spindle now threatens to affect the real world.
During this new adventure, players will encounter Liv Voda, an alluring guardian of time and space with a combative personality.
Mask of Idris is designed as post-game content. Players must first reach the “Luna Fraterna” ending of the main CODE VEIN II storyline and complete the sub-mission “Valentin’s Request” before they can begin the expansion campaign.

Free Version 2.0 Update Arrives Alongside the Expansion
Bandai Namco will also release Free Update Version 2.0 on the same day as Mask of Idris.
The update will introduce a range of new features and additional content, including the ability for players to explore the post-main-game world alongside their partners. Further details about Version 2.0 and its new content will be revealed at a later date.
CODE VEIN II Gameplay and Features
CODE VEIN II combines fast-paced action RPG combat with deep character and build customisation. Players can use blood drained from enemies to unlock powerful skills, while Blood Codes allow them to develop different combat strategies.
The game also features unique weapons and equipment known as Jails, which can be used to overcome challenging enemies and powerful bosses.
One of the sequel’s major additions is the Partner System, allowing players to seamlessly switch between two different forms of combat during encounters. This adds another layer of strategy to the game’s fast-paced battles.
Character customisation also returns, giving players extensive control over their Revenant Hunter. Players can customise everything from body type, hairstyles and facial expressions to accessories, makeup and more.
Key locations known as hot springs also allow players to view their characters under different lighting conditions, while Photo Mode provides the tools to capture and save their creations.
CODE VEIN II Mask of Idris Release Date
CODE VEIN II Mask of Idris launches on 9 September 2026 for players who have completed the required main-game content.
CODE VEIN II is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
